well, today was paperwork, storyboarding & breaking social norms day
wooo, 3 in 1 mega packed day.
but hey, it was fun.

to sitting down in the middle of the walkway playing 'chop chili'
to singing the bee gee's out loud while walking along
to randomly telling people they're cute
and even acting like a gay couple.
i swear, breaking social normality is CRAZY FUN.

Wooo.
its been awhile since i've updated.
so many things have happened.

First off, REDCAMP 5.
i know, it deserves a much longer post complete with pictures and all,
but. i know, i'm a lazyass pig.
Centurions were AWESOME. no other words to describe it.
everyone (well, at least my sub tribe) was high.
and well. yeah, redcamp was simply awesome.

Then comes the redcamp 5 outing.
with my group, ALADDIN
which seems like a subtle mockery of my name, but hey ! who gives.
a day at the beach, fun and games, lots of pictures, fun fun fun.
yeah.

Then comes the class picnic, which was awesome ? in a way
some loser broke his chin/face. Its this guy.

most of us know him as Loga.
he took 3 or 4 stitches. NICE.
it must feel good falling from the roof of a shelter huh ? HAHAHAHA
well, besides that, the picnic was fun and all, but as usual, i'm bloody lazy to upload any pictures.

Then, its today. well, thats a really fast recap huh ?

so, we visited OCH, which is a revisit that i've wanted for awhile now.yeah, after that, seafood buffet at pariss at marina square.

Alright, like i think i've mentioned before, i've transferred to an new cellgroup.
and recently, i got a call from one of the members, telling me that he's my connect group leader.
honestly, it stung.
Although i don't doubt his ability to lead or his maturity, it sucks to go from a connect group leader, to an average member again.

But, as usual, there's a good side to it. with this i'll probably have lesser things to clutter up my time. Which means more focus on my studies in this mega chaotic semester. also some time to slack of. heheheheh. yeah, sounds good.

Red camp is next week !
i'm getting all fidgety already.
i'm looking forward to it, can't wait to see the red campers.

on another note, seems i'm settling in to this sem, took long enough but i've gotten used to the classmates, the new modules, the work and all them stuffs.

the band's doing good too, recording some of our originals in SAE (School of Audio Engineering) from now till Jan or Feb next year. thats exciting man. hahahaha
i hope we'll have some spare time to do gigs too though. meh.
but, there's a direction, and thats the cool.

ah well, i'm out of juice already.

So here i am, trying to write a 900 word essay for social psychology, but i'm stuck with writers block. So i've decided to take a break, blog for abit.

Well, recently, i've been transferred out of N178 (my current cellgroup) to a newly started cell to help out and stuff.
Its sad leaving behind all the people i've just gotten to know, people no doubt i'll remember for times to come.
In fact, i think N178 has been the most enjoyable cell i've been in.

ah, lets not go to the emo side.
i really have to thank Steph, for being one of the most awesome leaders i've ever had.
thank you, for seeing the potential in me and opening doors of opportunity for me.
what i mean is, thank you, making the gamble and putting your trust in me.

ah man.
i'm squashed with stuff this few days.

what is trust ?
according to the dictionary,
trust is the 'firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something'.

how is trust applicable to us in our everyday lives ? well, in our friends.
we all have a certain degree of trust in each and every one of our friends. if not, we wouldn't be friends now would we ?
But. can friendships last on one-sided trust ?

would it be hard to trust a friend that has no trust in you ? lets see.
lets make this interactive eh ?
so lets say, you trust me, but i don't trust you.

so one day, you decide to entrust me, with your precious uh... cookie.
so i now have your cookie.
the next day, i have a packet of sweets i wanna give away, but i don't give it to you when you ask.
instead, i give it away to someone else.

would you still wanna give me another cookie again ? doubt so.
so its simple.
if you have trust in someone, but that trust isn't returned, you feel like crap.
so, my friends.
the lesson is simple.
if your friends have trust in you, don't let them down, have a little faith in them.
don't push them aside, return that trust, its how great friendships are forged.

its a simple concept, but it goes far.
so the next time you think of brushing someone off, think again.

and for my brother and sisters in Christ.
Its easy to brush god aside and turn our backs, but what we don't actually see is how much god loves us. he puts his love and trust in us, and time and time again, we fail him. yet, he holds on to us. now thats amazing.

I've recently come to terms that i can't stay myself anymore.

I've come to realize that my usual happy-go-lucky lazy ass attitude just isn't cutting it anymore

no longer can i sit around and not take initiative, no longer can i just be 'that guy over there'
its time to step up and wake up.

I finally accept that I'm only human, but by faith, I have all I'd ever need deep in my heart.

Alright, about time i updated.
hahahaha SO.
whats interesting ? i went to OCH (old changi hospital) for my photography assignments.
yeah, theme is abandoned. so yes.
some nice and creepy pictures !
yeah, the steps up to OCH. Welcome to OCH, or as the graffiti on the floor said, "welcome to hell" one heck of an eerie place.yeah, we didn't go in the main entrance, opting for the side entrance since it was more open. this is what we see.yeah, one just one of the pictures i took there. all the windows there are broken, not a single one is intact. same for mirrors. glass all over the floor there. along with the wood and other stuff.Ah, the psycho ward window. one heck of a creepy room. metal double doors, square room with on window and a toilet. and the walls are all burnt and rotting. some dude tried to study there once in year 2000. his notes were on the floor, chem and math. Wonder why he left them there. HOHOHO.

anyways, those are just some of the pictures i took.
a short summary of what went down at OCH.
so 3 of us went down together for our assignments. Phua, Li and myself.
the second we reached OCH, the building instantly hits you with a wave of eeriness. The walls are charred, the windows are broken, and graffiti is all over.
so yeah. we went in and decided to go up 1st, then make our way down. so yeah we went round and stuff.
but then we got sidetracked and went to the side branch.
where we found the psycho room. and like, some room with blood or something on the floor and walls. I don't really wanna know.
AND. the creepiest part of the hospital ?
is in the side branch.
we didn't know what part of the hospital it was, but the doors were like, kicked down or something, on the floor.
the air there is different, you can feel the difference in the atmosphere from there compared to the other parts of the hospital. freaky. there were weird symbols on the walls and stuff there too. it there was a room, with the doors open, with caution tape on the floor.
we didn't go there, cause we couldn't take the atmosphere anymore. PLUS we're not that idiotic like people in horror movies.
So we escaped that part of the hospital and realized... its the emergency ward.
then it hit us. OH SHIT. hahahaha yeah.
but then we saw the police van. it honked at us, we ran for our lives. hahahaha
managed to get away and OUT of the hospital. woo.
fun.yeah, the door on the right of this picture, was the center of freakishness. not stepping in there.

yeah, the emergency ward pictures. you can't tell how freaky that place is, you have to FEEL it.
and so, i thank god for protection.

soo... today started out normal, went for service in the morning,
it was cool, instead of the usual Pst. Tan, Pst. Derek gave the message, which was refreshing.
hahahaha yes.

after that i left, and went to have lunch with my mum.
and i received a call from Josh, saying that....
he's giving Gerald and i, tickets to the DAUGHTRY SHOW ! awesomeation.
at the 'Traffic Jam Street Party'. so yeah. went home and did stuff.

met Gerald at plaza sing, freaked out for a little while cuz we didn't know where Armenian street was. heheheh. so anyways, we found it.
we saw a immense que for admission, so we cut it, with my expert cutting skillz that killz.
hahahaha yeah, met some guy that knew me. yeah.
then, i passed of as 18, got a red band instead of blue, which means i could get alcohol, which i didn't, but hey, its still cool.

OKAY.
here's the interesting parts. I'll leave out the irrelevant bits.
1. was standing next to Adrien Pang and his family. (singapore actor dude)
2. almost caught daughtry's water bottle (it was wet, slipped out of my hand and got taken)
3. started the encore chant (HAHA ownage.)
4. shirtless daughtry waved hi from backstage to Gerald and i.

NICE. okay, so well, 1, 2 & 3 are self explanitory, but event 4. I shall elaborate.
the concert was over, we were walking back, when we walked past the backstage.
now, the backstage was just seperated by a plastic tentish thing. so, i was going "hey, we could pull ourselves up and take a look !"
so we both pulled ourselves up, and went something like
"WOOOO, ROCK ON !"
and yeah, so he like waved back.
but then we dropped down and were satisfied.
HAHAHAHA

Was kinda set thinking by today's screening of 'Pleasantville'
The film is about a brother and a sister, getting sucked into a black and white world, where everything is perfect. And how they, with their imperfections bring colour to the world.

so it kinda got me thinking.
That we all kinda do live in our own black and white world, in our own safe bubble of what we think is acceptable and what we believe to be right.
But are we overlooking the outside world, missing the color we don't see ?
At times, we're so narrow minded, we ignore what other people are going through and forget to put ourselves in their shoes. so well, add color to your mind.

Yet another point, about change.
We so often fight change, like in the film, how the B&W people outcasted the colored people.
We often feel too comfortable at where we are to move out of our comfort zones into something new, okay. not often, always. But if we keep on living in our perfect little world, not wanting to budge, how are we supposed to grow into better people ?
It's never easy though, but hey, change makes life interesting doesn't it ? otherwise everything would be in black and white.

Our imperfections are in a way, our perfect parts.
nobody's perfect, so in a way, our imperfections define us and make us who we are.
Never despise someone for their imperfections, because you've always take a look at yourself first.

about living life with a passion.

I can't help but to notice people around me living like dead people.
with all the "uuuughhhh.... work...." "ugh...... project...."
its understandable, but what happened to the thing called fighting spirit ?
where's the "ah man, bring it on, i'll do it" ? we let ourselves go about everyday with a frown on our faces, dragging our feet everywhere we go.
there's no more passion in our lives.

2 years back i promised myself to be someone that brings joy to the people around me,
i swore never to intentionally hurt someone, and to wear a smile on my face.
okay, maybe i haven't kept to that completely, but it made me who i am today, and i'm happy with that.

Alright, camp phenomena's coming in about uh, 3 days ?
hahahaha I'm really looking forward too, its gonna be mega fun

heheheh, i'm gonna be acting in a skit, by lifehouse, it leaves quite an impression.
But anyways, we had a practice for the skit today, earlier on.
halfway through the practice, this random dude came up to our group, and started talking to his reflection on the window, saying stuff like "But i don't know her !" and actually arguing with his reflection.
hahahaha i think he's like possessed or something, not in the joking way, but as in seriously. like, with a wrong spirit or something.
Cuz that place is commonly used by my church and all, so like, that guy has something wrong in him or something. mm mm. warfare.
Then, he came back again ! my gosh, he came to look at what we were doing, and exclaimed, "OH, so its these people !" and continued to mumble stuff to himself/reflection.
I couldn't help but to make quiet prayer for protection, or to be kinda interested at the same time.

and played a rocking dreamer and an owning don't look back in anger.

Right now, i'm really quite satisfied with where i am, although i feel selfish for it, somehow
I was stressing out about my storyboarding but when i actually got down to it, i enjoyed it.
and now i'm actually looking forward to my photography assignment over the weekend.
its really quite the attitude change from me, who would think that Adin of all people would actually start to enjoy his studies ?!

hahaha well, yeah, i have God to think for where i am now, its almost too good to be true, almost like it was set up for me or something. I'm in a great course, with great people,
Christian friends that're on fire, people like Calvin, Pris, Keann, Josh and so etc...
I'm blessed.

on another note,
I had a great time of worship just the other day, weirdly, while walking to KAP from school, with people behind me, singing out of tune songs. But i really felt the presence with me, really, a season of prayer.

Went for thr 'Ironman challenge'.
overnight cycling.
it was really fun. except that my ass hurt.
and that we missed a games station, cycled all the way to changi,
then cycled all the way back to east coast to the games station.
then back to changi. we cycled round the airport. on the outside. yay us.haha
but it was fun, in a way... haha

Suprizingly, i learnt quite a few things today.

and its stuff i'll actually use. from IT to a life lesson and even to more spiritual things.
haha on a saturday.

well, had fun too, went jamming in the morning with Daniel, Petra, Tim and Yewjin.

no bassist. haha so we had improvised bassists.

HAHA turned out more productive than previous jams though.

after that, went to play LAN ! haha, it was exceptionally fun, mainly because we played seldom played games, like 'jedi outcast' or 'comand and conquer' instead of the usual 'cs' and 'dota'.

Lots of thoughts at this point of time. kinda swamped man.

well, this is my future, laid before me, waiting for me to take it in.
Its more or less set for me.
and yet, i'm still unsure, uncertain, not ready to make that step or start out yet.
but what is there to do ? its obviously much better than some boring office job.
maybe i'm just over-worrying ?
yeah, hopefully...

I feel really left out at work too.
every friday, go out drinking, having fun.
while i'm going for my cellgroup meeting.
i'm not complaining, i place my priorities correctly, but its not about missing the fun.
i miss out, i feel out of place when the next week i have no idea what went on, people are less familiar with me than they are others. its almost like i'm the class loser or something.
what do i do, what do i say, i'm stuck.
but hey, i guess its 'welcome to the real world' for me.

on top of that, i'm also newly a connect group leader and that comes with responsibilities.
i'm not gonna back down, but nobody likes stepping out of their comfort zone do they ?
